Warner Mosely Howell, 81, of Red Bank, NJ passed away in his home on December 10, 2020. He was born on November 20, 1939 in Palatka, FL to Jacob and Ellwarth Howell.
He graduated in 1956 from Central Academy High school in Palatka, FL. Warner learned masonry in Central Academy and was a member of the National Honor Society.
Warner accepted Christ at a very early age and joined New Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Palatka, FL. He was a member of the choir and always enjoyed singing gospel hymns both in and outside of church.
He joined the United States Army in July 1963 and was honorably discharged from service in July 1965. Warner was a member of the Bricklayers Union #1 in Jacksonville, FL and the Masonic Lodge in Palatka, FL where he was Wizard Master (President).
He relocated to Red Bank, New Jersey in 1969. Warner loved construction and started his own business, Warren's Masonry. He was well known in the community for the outstanding quality of his work; and employed many people from Monmouth and Ocean counties.
He joined St Paul Baptist Church, Red Bank, NJ. He served over 50 years in the choir, was the chairman of the Deacon board, and ordained as a minister of the church. It was in St Paul Baptist Church that he found his true love, Joyce Turner, and married her on January 18, 1974. He became the pastor of True Vine Baptist Church, on April 7, 2019, and remained pastor until his death.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Edward, John, and Luther Howell; and sisters, Goldia Murray, and Elworth Kearney. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Howell; sons, Warner M. Howell Jr. and wife, Heather C. Howell, and David Niblack and wife Pamela Niblack; daughter, Jenee Farley and husband, Dana Farley; grandchildren, Taajudeen, Jamaica, Yaqub, Imani, Aaliyah, Jocelyn and husband, Karle, Jereme, Dana “Ian”, Kyle, David, Jr., Daniel, Moriah, Tameika and husband, Maurice; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, James “Blanche”, Ponce, and Lawrence; sister, Helen; and a host of nieces and nephews.
