“For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
I fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
II Timothy 4: 6-7
Terry J. Robinson, 82, of Asbury Park, NJ was born on February 12, 1937 to the late Renn and Sallie Robinson in Whatley, AL. He departed this life on Monday, December 16, 2019 with his wife, Dollie, by his side.
His parents relocated to Lakeland, Florida where he was educated. Terry accepted Christ and was baptized at a young age in Whatley, AL. He was employed at several construction companies. His last employer was George Harms Construction in Farmingdale, NJ. Terry was employed there as a Heavy Equipment Operator for 28 years. He retired from the company in 2016.
He met the love of his life, Sister Dollie Fitzpatrick, in 1971. The two were married in 1996 and became a blended family. Together, they had an Out-Reach Ministry, providing meals and clothing whenever these resources were needed. Each holiday they made dinners, sharing with the community along Springwood Ave in Asbury Park, NJ. Just as we depend on God who is our Jehovah Jireh, Terry depended on God to allow him to be the provider for his family, and anyone else who needed him.
His favorite pastime was working on old cars, specializing in brake repairs. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and his family. He was the family’s Uber service, the family advisor, and Guidance Counselor. Terry always strongly recommended employment in the construction industry.
Terry’s favorite musical genre was Country and Western. He also enjoyed various favorite television programs such as Sanford and Son, Steve Harvey’s Family Feud, and sports; especially boxing.
He leaves to his cherish memory his loving and supportive wife, Dollie Robinson; six sons, Gregory Hughs, Kevin Robinson, Melvin Fitzpatrick, Kyle Robinson, Noel Robinson, and Terry Robinson, Jr.; two daughters, Kim Robinson and Karen Robinson; two sisters, Lillie Holt and Julia Robinson; three sister-in-laws, Diane Robinson, Ernestine Love, and Pearl Fitzpatrick; two best friends, Joe Mayo and James “Mississippi” Merritt; godson, Jazier Smith; 28 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends.
