Sallie Bell Postell was born May 23,1935 in Guyton, Georgia. She gave up her earthly existence on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, in Keansburg, NJ to begin her new life in God's presence.
She was one of six children and attended the Effingham County school system in Guyton, Georgia. Sallie Bell was raised by an aunt where she then became the only child in the household. She was married to Elijah Postell, Sr. and they moved to New Jersey in 1952. Sallie Bell and Elijah were blessed with ten children.
After moving to New Jersey, they joined the Wicker Memorial Baptist Church, Morganville, NJ, where Sallie served on many ministries. She advised the Junior Missionaries and assisted the pianist with the Junior Choir, sang with the Gospel Echoes, she was a Senior Missionary member and a Deaconess. Sallie held the position of Deaconess until her decline.
Sallie Bell was a quiet soft-spoken person willing to do what she could to help someone else. She was a God-fearing woman who raised her children to be likewise. Sallie was a very good cook, which most of us can attest to. She worked outside of the home off and on, but mostly stayed home to raise her family. Her most recent job before retiring was at Marlboro State Hospital in Marlboro, NJ.
