Rosalie Jackson Obituary

Rosalie Jackson, 86, of Red Bank, NJ passed away quietly in her home on Saturday, July 18, 2020. She was born on August 24, 1933, in Long Branch, NJ to Robert and Ethel Mae Turner.

The family spent a short period of time living in the Pine Brook area, then later settled in Neptune, NJ. Rosalie received her education in the Asbury Park and Neptune, NJ school systems.  Rosalie met and later married James Jackson on July 9, 1960. And from their union they had an amazing son, James Jackson, and two beautiful daughters, Eulita Jackson-Moorer and Romona Shelton.

Early in Rosalie’s work career she was employed by ACME Laundry Service, Neptune, NJ, and the original Berkley Carteret, Asbury Park, NJ, as an elevator operator.  She also worked in the Eisner Building in Red Bank, NJ where they made military and Boy Scout uniforms. While she grew and maintained her family, she worked as a Quality Control Specialist for both Perkin Elmer and Concurrent Computer Corporation.

Rosalie was very involved in her children’s lives.   She was a Boy Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout Troop helper.  She was a member of the PTA for the Red Bank School system and a Booster Parent for the school bands.

For most of her life, Rosalie was an avid bowler and belonged to several bowling leagues. She had won awards and trophies for her bowling expertise.  She frequently reminded us of all the “perfect” 300 games she had bowled.  Rosalie was also a great artist.  She loved to sing and play the piano.  In her free time during the late 70’s, she loved to sing with the St. Peter Claver Choir.

In 1984, Rosalie became a member of the Voice Center Baptist Church Member, Tinton Falls, NJ where she was a Choir member, and on the Missionary board.  She later became a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church, Red Bank, NJ where she was a Choir member. She also furthered her Christian education by attending and graduating from Monmouth Bible institute, Farmingdale, NJ.

Rosalie was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Ethel Mae Turner; brother, Harry Turner; sisters, Loretta Turner, Monica Fairfax, and Katherina Gonzalez; and her beloved son, Ron Joseph. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James Jackson, NJ; son, James R. Jackson, DE; daughters, Eulita Jackson-Moorer, NJ, and Romona Shelton, DE; brother, Robert Turner, MD; sister, Alice Roberts, NJ; grandchildren, Alicia Jackson, NJ, Micaela and husband Jerry Latimer II, GA, Tyrone Shelton, DE,  Gregory Shelton, PA, Shae Moorer, NJ, and Jemaal Shelton, DE; great-grandchildren, Aryanna, James, and Aiyanna Morris, NJ, and Jerry Latimer III, GA; and host of relatives and friends.

Rosalie ...
Rosalie had a beautiful spirit and a wonderful personality.
It is impossible to express how much we,
who knew and loved her, will miss her delightful laughter,
boundless joy, corny jokes, and charming mischievousness.
Her love is eternal, and forever will be safe in our hearts.
