Marsha Sweet

February 23, 1947 ~ March 22, 2020 (age 73)

Effective 9 pm Saturday, March 21, 2020, New Jersey Governor, Phil Murphy, had mandated by executive order #107 that all New Jersey residents shall remain home or in their place of residence unless they are obtaining essential goods or services from businesses or government agencies.  All gatherings of individuals, such as funeral services, parties, celebrations, or other social events, are cancelled.

These restrictions will remain in effect until further notice from the state governor.  Due to the current restrictions, there will not be a funeral service for Marsha Sweet.

The family is grateful, and would like to extend their sincere thanks, for all the support and condolences from friends and the community in their time of mourning.

Marsha Sweet, 73, of Long Branch, NJ entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 22, 2020 surrounded by those who loved her most.  She was born on February 23, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Frances Newman-Crudup and John Harvin, shortly after they relocated to Long Branch, NJ.

Marsha found joy in helping others.  She held a career in health care for over forty years, leaving a lasting impression on many people and their families during that time.

In addition to helping others, Marsha loved listening to music.  Some of her favorites were smooth jazz, Earth, Wind, and Fire, and the Whispers and Will Downing. She loved to watch the New York Knicks and any Al Pacino movie. What Marsha enjoyed most, was spending time with her family.  She was always at the beach, or on a bus ride to New York City with her grandchildren.

Marsha was predeceased by her husband, Nathaniel Sweet; parents, Frances Newman-Crudup and John Harvin; and brother, Sylvester Crudup.  She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Todd, Tiwan, Tanesha, and Tanya Sweet; four grandchildren, Dominique, Veronica, Jacklyn, and Todd Sweet Jr.; grand dog, Jack Sweet; siblings, Aneva Crudup, Anthony Crudup, Ronald Crudup, Robert Crudup, and Pasty Chambers; along with a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews who adored her. She will be remembered for her jokes and easy-going personality.
