Glenwood Kearney, 62, of Barnegat, NJ passed away on February 15, 2021. He was born on April 10, 1958 in Lakewood, NJ to James and Emma Kearney.
Glen was educated in the Lakewood Public School System. Upon graduation from high school, he was employed by Brockway Glass Company, Brockway, PA for several years. He then worked as lead driver for Shining Star Limousine Service, Bayville, NJ. In 2012 Glen was employed in Marion Security Agency, Red Bank, NJ.
Glenwood was a devoted member of No Limit Worship Center, Lakehurst, NJ under the leadership of Pastor Bernard Jordan. He always looked forward to attending church bible study to obtain more of the Lord’s Word. Glen had a saying, “Don’t Just Hear the Word, Do the Word”!
Glen was a very social person and would always converse with people about the goodness of God. Then, at the end of the conversation, he would tell them the actual meaning of their name.
He was predeceased by his mother, Emma Dean Swain Kearney, and 3 sisters, Alnita William, Alvita William, and Renee Kearney. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Kearney of Barnegat, NJ, father, James Kearney, Jr, Lakewood, NJ, children, Lemuel Kearney, Barnegat, NJ, Glenwood Kearney, Jr, Newark, NJ, Lakisha Glenn, Brick, NJ, Janene Moore, Barnegat, NJ, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sisters, Mary Dean Vaden, Newark, NJ, Selina Kearney, Trenton, NJ, brothers, Robert (Bootsie) Williams, GA, Barry Kearney, Lakewood, NJ, Mark Kearney, Newark, NJ, Daniel Kearney, Lakewood, NJ, sister in law, Cynthia Stevens, Eatontown, NJ, friend, Angelina Cooper Sanusi, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
