Donald Bass died Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at the Willow Springs Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Brick, NJ. He was born in Neptune, NJ, educated in Howell, NJ and resided in Lakewood, NJ.
He was an honorably discharged U.S. Army Veteran and retired from Earle Asphalt after 40 years. Donald enjoyed playing the bass guitar at his church and at home. He liked reading and collecting “Weird N.J.” magazines, fixing cars, riding his motorcycle and drawing. He was known for his kind heart and for being a jokester. Donald was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
He is predeceased by his wife, Shirley Bass, mother, Beatrice Bass, in-laws, Jerry and Annie McFadden, two brothers, John Bass and David Bass Sr., and two sisters, Joanne Conaway and Ruby Bass.
Donald leaves behind a daughter, Jazzmine Bass, six siblings, Belinda Spradley (Spouse Raymond) of Manalapan, NJ, Sharon Bass of Newark, DE, Danny Bass Sr. (Spouse Kim) of Myerstown, PA, James Sharpe of Neptune, NJ, Michael Sharpe (Spouse Alicia) of Neptune, NJ, and Darlene Postell (Spouse Donald) of Freehold, NJ, godson, Darnell “Bootsy” Lewis (Spouse Diane) of Ewing, NJ, goddaughter, Asia McFadden of Howell, NJ, brother in-law, Rodney McFadden of Cranbury, NJ, and four sisters’ in-law, Stelline Lewis of Ewing, NJ, Jirldine (Guillermo) Leon-Cruz of Cranbury, NJ, Sheila McFadden of Jackson, NJ, and Carine (Joseph) Polcaro of Boynton Beach, FL, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
