Jule Lewis, 89, of Howell, NJ departed this life on June 11, 2020, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. He was born on April 25, 1931 in Hancock County, GA.
He resided in Sparta, GA, before relocating with his family to Manalapan, NJ, in 1951. Jule was employed as a construction worker for Labor Local 156. After retiring from construction, Jule was self-employed for many years.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Annie Lee Warren Lewis; son, Alonzo “Lonnie” Lewis; daughter, Althea Lewis; grandson, Leonard Johnson; and nine siblings, Maggie Jones, Mary Alice Fletcher, E.M. Mapp, Coris Mapp, Zonie Mae Mapp, Earnest Mapp, Louise Thomas, E.S. Mapp, Jr, and Lelar Shaw Mapp.
He leaves to cherish his memory one son, John L. (Hope) Lewis of Howell, NJ; sister, Willie Ruth Mapp of Decatur, GA; two brothers-in-law, Joseph (Katie) Warren, and William Warren of Freehold; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; special friend, Lula McBride; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
