David Rice, 76, of Asbury Park, NJ passed away, June 22, 2020 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. He was born on March 1, 1944 in Matawan, NJ to John and Jonnie Mae Rice.
He attended the Matawan School system in Matawan, New Jersey. David enjoyed fishing, boating, crabbing, and hunting. He loved cars and enjoyed fixing them. David especially liked playing his record player and collecting antiques.
He owned his own lawn service. David was a commercial truck driver for many years. He drove trucks for Toys ”R” Us, Freehold Cartage, Inc, Mazza Demolition ,and more. He loved his family and his dog.
David was predeceased by his parents, John and Jonnie Mae Rice; long life companion and love of his life, Pamela Kearney; 3 brothers, Joseph Rice of Long Branch, NJ, John Boy Rice of Carteret, NJ, and Allen Rice of Asbury Park, NJ; 5 sisters, Louise Slay of Asbury Park, NJ, Helen Rice of Asbury Park, NJ, Janet Hurston of Trenton, NJ, Doris Rice of Red Bank, NJ, and Elizabeth Brinson of Texas; 4 half-sisters, Betty, Renee, Eileen, and Mary Stevens; and 1 half-brother, Tommy Stevens.
He is survived by 4 daughters, Veronica Murphy of Mississippi, Diana Summey of Keyport, NJ, Rebecca Kearney of Asbury Park, NJ, and Davina Kearney of New York; 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
